Quote:
1. kaana (Fi'l Naaqis) + Yusuf (Ism of Kaana) + Rest (Khabr of Kaana - Compound) 2. Khabr of Kaana -> An masdariyyah + Masdar Mu'awwal (Compound) 3. Masdar Mu'awwal -> Fi'l (Yaraa) + Faa'il (huwa inside) + Maf'ool bihi (rest - Compound) 4. Maf'ool bihi -> Dhul-Haal (An-Naas) + Haal (Rest of sentence - Compound) 5. Haal -> Ma'toof Alayh and Ma'toof (and both are fi'l + Faa'il) Was this a trick question and I missed something? |

و يكونُ بعدَ ذلكَ قحطٌ عامٌ تاكلونَ فيهِ ما خَزَنتُمْ الا قليلاً
Ohhhkayyy. No vowels. Let's do 2nd tarkeeb first. Yakoonu is marfoo' because of absence of nasb and jazm givers. Ba'da is mansoob because it is maf'ool feeh. Thaalika is mabni because it is an ism ishaara in the place of jarr because it is mudaaf ilayh. Qahtun is marfoo' because it is faa'il of the kaana taammah. Aammun is marfoo' because of extension sifah. Ta'kuloona is marfoo' because of absence of nasb and jazm givers. Fee is mabni because it's a harf. Hi is is mabni because it's a personal pronoun in the place of jarr because it is following a preposition. Maa is mabni because it's a Harf. Khazantum is mabni because it is Maadi. Illaa is mabni because it is a harf. Qaleelan is mansoob because it is mustathna. 3rd Tarkeeb. 1. Fi'l + Faa'il + Maf'ool Feeh (Mudaaf Mudaaf Ilayh) 2. Faa'il is compound: Mawsoof + 2 Sifahs. 3. 2nd Sifah is compound: Fi'l + Faa'il + Maf'ool Feeh (Jarr Majroor) + Maf'ool Bihi 4. Maf'ool Bihi is Compound: Mustathna Minhu + Harf al-Istithnaa + Mustathna 5. Mustathna Minhu: Ism Mawsool + Silah I hope there aren't a million mistakes up there............ |

I don't think so, that doesn't make sense.
This comes in the meaning of 'There will be'. Also, try putting the verb yoojad in its place it will make complete sense. I don't know any SOLID, CLEAR-CUT reason why it wont be so... |

Ustaadh Yusuf had said in one of the live lecs (week 18) that it is quite standard and acceptable for it to drop in a vocative structure. He also had given examples like if u want to call somebody like "Ya Haaris", you can say "ya Haaru" or for 'Ya uthmanu'.."ya Uthmu" |
