How to say my Prophet

If some one asked who is your Prophet? how do i say "my Prophet is Muhammaed (saw) "

نَبِيَّ مُحَمَّدٌ

nabiyya muhammadun
or would it be nabbiyu?
would the above be correct?

I imagine it would be by adding the personal pronoun of the first person, the yaa, so nabiyyii...

yes i thought that but i dont know seems to sound strange .... as usually we say our Prophet nabiyuna ... but i thought the three yaas to gether looked rather strange and ... bit hard to pronounce as well

It will be نَبِيَّ مُحَمَّدٌ .

The last letter in Nabi, a Yaa, is doubled. To make it "MY prophet", you have to add a third Yaa, which is not allowed. You'd end up with "Nabiy-yi" or something. So they turn the second Yaa into the "My" Yaa and you have to give it a fatha because of the duplication.

If you say "nabiyya Muhammad" isn't the translation "My Prophet Muhammd (SAW)"

vs.

If you say "nabiyya HUWA Muhammad" to say "My Prophet is Muhammad"?

or am I mistaken and the first is sufficient to convey the meaning?

I think 'Nabiyya Muhammadun' is sufficient because if you add Huwa it will then be translated as 'My prophet is that Muhammad' (Sallallahu'alayhi wasallam).

Someone may please confirm as Im a bit doubtful regarding this.

I was thinking that the translation of the second would have been "My Prophet [he] is Muhammad"

I am thinking along the lines of this:

هاذا مسجد كبير= This is a big masjid

هاذا المسجد كبير=This masjid is big

هاذا المسجد الكبير= This big masjid...(it is a phrase, not a sentence)

هاذا هو المسجد الكبير=This [it] is the big masjid.

I am not certain, but it seems like we would need to distinguish between the meanings, "My Prophet Muhammad (SAW)" and "My Prophet is Muhammad (SAW)"

Come to think of it, I think this may be addressed in one of the videos, would the "huwa" be considered a wall or something similar?

I've got an answer to this, alhamdulillah.

'My prophet is Muhammad (saw).' is translated as 'Nabiyya Muhammadun', here Muhammadun is khabar whereas,

'My prophet Muhammad (saw)....' is an incomplete sentence we have to add a khabar after it like 'My prophet Muhammad (saw) is Amin.' or Nabiyya Muhammadun aminun. Here Muhammadun is badal for Nabiyya and thus part of Mubtada and Aminun is khabar.

Hence the khabar will decide whether 'Muhammad (saw) is part of Mubtada or khabar and likewise will be the translation.
