Default The word Subhana

as salaamualaikum,

I have been wondering about when we say SubhanAllah, it seems that the word Subhana is mabni on fatha.

What's the reasoning for this?
I asked the Imam at the masjid, and he said that there is probably something mahzoof at the front.

It's a masdar (maf'ul mutlaq) mudhaf towards its [or rather what should have been the omitted verb's] maf'ool bihi. The assumption is:

usabbi'hu Allaha subhaanan

subhaanahu is the same thing, except with a pronoun instead of the Glorious name. The grammar is the same.

Just thinking about this a bit more, the masdar for usabbihu should be tasbeeh, so is it that this would be usabbihu Allaha tasbeehan subhaanan? or something along those lines?

maf'ul mutlaq does not need to be the exact same masdar. The meanings being the same is sufficient, e.g. ambata nabaatan, and jalastu qu'oodan
